The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, April 8, 1965 ----------------------------------------- Ora Van Ferebee, youngest son of George and Frances Ferebee, was born February 26, 1892 near Nelson, Nuckolls County, Nebraska. He departed this life at the Chase County hospital (sic) April 2, at the age of 73 years, one month, and seven days. September 16, 1914, Ora was united in marriage to Ivy May Clements. To this union four children were born. Mr. Ferebee spent the first portion of his life farming near Nelson, Nebr. He came to Chase County in 1935 where he engaged in farming until he retired in 1957 and moved to Champion where he resided until his death. He was a loving husband, and father and highly respected and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Ivy of Champion; three sons, Don of Cody, Wyo., Frank of Ligonier, Ind., and Bud of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Donnabeth Ferrel of Imperial. Also surviving are three daughters-in-law; one son-in-law, seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers, Arbor of Nelson, Nebr., and Sam of Champion, and two sisters, Ada Willoughby of Sacramento, Calif., and Dorothy Brown of Nelson, Nebr., as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Grover and Clifford, and three sisters, Stella, Ida and Ruby. Funeral services were held Monday, April 5, at the Methodist Church in Imperial, with Pastor, Rev. Otto A. Quaife, officiating. Music was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bauerle, with Mrs. Willard Rouze at the organ. Escorts were Irvin Jones, Vern Fanning, Carl Hill, Ted Hink, Dick Goddard, and Don Welch.
