Son of George Delano Pottorff and Ida Emma Marker OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, September 10, 1970 POTTORFF - Orbin Leo Pottorff, son of Ida Marker and George Pottorff, was born May 8, 1918 in Lucas County, Iowa, and passed from this life August 29, 1970 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, at the age of 52 years, 3 months and 21 days. Orbin was injured in a construction accident August 12, while working on Interstate 35 near Lamoni when the tractor he was operating upset on him. On February 22, 1964, he was united in marriage to Bessie Lorraine Hoover. Orbin had lived all of his life in Lucas County except the past six years, which he spent in Osceola. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Bessie of the home; his father, George; one brother, Clyde of Lucas County; two step-sons and their wives, Dwain and Olive Hoover of Des Moines; Frederick and Donna Hoover of Truro; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; two nieces and one nephew; a number of other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. C. Hook at 3 p.m., Monday, August 31, 1970 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment was in the Fletcher Cemetery north of Norwood.
