The summons came on Tuesday, Jan. 14 and Mrs. Ordelia Dimery answered the call and crossed over the borderland of time into the great eternity. Mrs. Dimery was born at Andover, New York Dec. 17, 1842. She was married March 23, 1864, to Joseph F. M. Dimery at Horizon, Dodge county, Wis., from which state she, with her husband and family came to Seward county, Nebraska in 1871, where she remained until her death. Being one of the pioneers of Seward county she has helped to turn the wilderness into a pleasant and prosperous garden spot, and has lived to see the desert blossom as the rose. As a citizen Mrs. Dimery was highly respected and esteemed, and was one of those persons who by a remarkable comibination of vision, enterprise and magnaminity was a mighty factor in the development and betterment of her community. Her name will always hold a high place among the citizens of Beaver Crossing. She was a member of the Evangelical Association, having united with that church at about the time of, or shortly after its organization in Beaver Crossing. Devotedly loyal to the church of her choice she was nevertheless broadminded and broad-spirited and included all Christians of whatever denomination as her spiritual brothers and sisters. She was a truly noble Christian character and will be greatly missed by the church, not only the local church, but generally for she was widely known and esteemed. Her husband preceded her in death in 1903. There are left to mourn her departure six children: Mrs. Caroline M. Borden of Beaver Crossing, Nebr.; Mrs. Jennie E. Evans and Thomas H. Dimery of Addington, Okla.; Fred Dimery of Beaver Crossing; Martin W. Dimery of Omaha, and Delia N., who was home at the time of her death. Also three brothers, Richard Martin of Mason City, Nebr.; John P. Martin of Bigfork, Mont.; Asa W. Martin of Donald, Wyoming; and two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Tidyman of Beaver Crossing and Mrs. Hattie Conway of York, Nebr. Besides these she leaves five grandchildren and a host of friends and acquaintances. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church on Friday p.m. where the last tributes of respect were paid to the memory of our departed friend and mother.
