Description	:	Services for Oren R. Mereness, 68, 2221 Prospect Ave., Aberdeen, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Conde Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Gould officiating. Burial was in the Groton Union Cemetery. He died September 27 at Dakota Midland Hospital in Aberdeen. Music was provided by the ladies' quartet who sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "In The Garden," accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Rossow, organist. Honorary pallbearers were his friends. Mr. Mereness, son of John and Mattie Mereness, was born June 8, 1904, at Verdon. He taught school south of Groton and near Conde. He married Jennodine Flatten at Aberdeen on Sept. 14, 1935. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Conde Methodist Church, a board member for many years of the Spink County ASCS and was a Conde Township board treasurer. He lived in the Verdon area until 1971 when he moved to Aberdeen. Survivors include his widow and a twin-sister, Olive Bymers, Conde. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and an infant brother. Paetznick - Garness Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
