He was married to Adda Miller May 30, 1905. She passed away Feb. 21, 1946. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Ruth Davis, Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Illa Gardiner, Waukee, Ia.; Mrs. Lola Mantich, Omaha, Nebr.; Warren and Lowell, rural Chariton. Sept. 19, 1948 he was married to Eva Bennett, who survives him. Orie had spent his entire life in Lucas county. He lived on a farm in Pleasant township until 1948 when he moved to Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Clement and Joe. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow and children; a brother, George, and a sister, Helen Shore; an aged uncle, Will Shore, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four step-children; Mrs. Mildred Conner, Iowa City; Mrs. Anna Sharp, Seymour; Vernon Bennett, Iowa City; and Laura Jane Stover of Des Moines; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Orie was interested in civic affairs, keeping up with the happenings of the day. He served six years as mayor of Lucas. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Miley Chapel with Elder Vernon Kent officiating. Interment was at Zion cemetery near Williamson.
