OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, February 6, 1945 CLEMENT HARRISON DACHENBACH Clement Harrison Dachebach, second child of Lincoln G. and Florence Shore Dachenbach, was born November 29, 1888, in Pleasant Township, Lucas County, Iowa, and passed away January 28, 1945, at his home in Milwaukee, Wisc., at the age of 56 years, 1 month and 28 days. As a boy, nature endowed him with a good mind, a veritable genius for hard work and a desire for an education. After leaving the public schools, he attended Simpson college and Bell's Business school and having decided to enter the business world, he finished a course in training at the C.C.C.C. in Des Moines. For more than 25 years he has been in the employ of the Crum & Forster Insurance Company, and at the time of his death, he was their agent for the State of Wisconsin. He was married to Edith Reid, of Chicago, Ill., Oct. 20, 1915, who survives him. They were the parents of three chldren, Mrs. Florence Margaret Nelson, of Detroit, Mich.; Sergeant Wilbur Dachenbach, who was sent overseas Jan. 9th; and Helen Irene Dachenbach, who died in March, 1941, at the age of 19 years. A little grandson, whom he had never seen, came to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nelson, just five weeks prior to his death. A son-in-law, Marvin Nelson, of Detroit, and a daughter-in-law, Margery D., of Milwaukee, also survive him. He leaves two brothers, Orle and George, and a sister, Helen, and three uncles, H. W. Shore, W. O. Shore and E. B. Shore, all of near Chariton, bsides many other relatives and friends. Clement Dachenbach was a man of upright living and strong loyal ties. He never lost contact with the scenes of his boyhood and he experienced no greater joy than when with his wife and children, made his visits from time to time with his relatives, former friends and schoolmates in Lucas county. He was a member of the Wauwatosa Methodist church, was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Tripoli Shrine. All join in mourning the loss of a friend and fellow citizen whose success in life arose from qualities of character which commanded the friendship and co-operation of his business associates and others. Funeral services were held in Wauwatosa Tuesday afternoon, in charge of his pastor, Rev. Haywood. The remains, accompanied by his wife and her sister, Mrs. F. M. Livingston, were brought to the home of his sister, Miss Helen Dachenbach, in Williamson, Wednesday morning. Further services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Zion church in Pleasant township, conducted by Rev. Archie Beals, of Russell. It seemed most fitting for the body of this native son to be laid to rest in the Zion cemetery near the last resting place of his grandparents, parents, and daughter, Irene, and his brother, Joseph Allen, who died in France during the first World War. Pallbearers were, Clinton Johnson, Francis Carson, Orlan Wells, Howard Taylor, Gene Shore and Vernie Wirene. Music was furnished by Mesdames Orie Edwards, Elmer Edwards, John Bebout and Roy Edwards, with Mrs. Louie Westman at the piano. The pulpit, the rostrum about the pulpit, the piano and all available space around the casket were filled withy the many floral offerings that were sent by friends, relatives, neighbors and associates.
