Description	:	Orlefa LeNora Sands Loyer, 94, died at 6:53 a.m. Jan. 30, 2010, at Otterbein Cridersville. She was born June 12, 1915, in Cridersville to Jacob H. and Louella Shaffer Sands, who preceded her in death. She was raised by Edward and Bertha Arthur after the death of her mother in 1921. On Nov. 5, 1933, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul F. Loyer. The celebrated their 74th anniversary in 2007. He died March 27, 2008. She was born June 12, 1915, in Cridersville to Jacob H. and Louella Shaffer Sands, who preceded her in death. She was raised by Edward and Bertha Arthur after the death of her mother in 1921. Mrs. Loyer was a 1933 graduate of Cridersville High School. She was a homemaker, helped farm and exhibit Belgian horses. She also was a supervisor in the cafeteria at Shawnee School and had worked at Jocobs China Co. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, its Deborah, Rachel Circles, the Cemetery Board and a former member of the Alter Guild. She was active in the American Lutheran Women as vice president and president of the Western Conference ALCW and had served as treasurer of the Ohio district ALCW. She was a member of the Cridersville Historical Society, the Ohio State Belgian Draft Horse Association, the American Belgian Association, the National Percheron Association and a former member of the Shelby County Draft Horse Association. She was a former secretary of the Eastern States Draft Horse Sale and employee of the Ohio State Fair entry office for 13 years during the fair. She served many years on the Shawnee Township Zoning Board of Appeals. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (James) Michael, of Lima, and Nancy (William) Recker, of Findlay; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Thomas and Martha Beery, of Lima. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff &Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery. Friends may call from 2to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cridersville Historical Society or St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
