Description	:	Orlin Erich Mussmann, son of Bernhardt (Ben) and Edna Mussmann, nee Wegener, was born January 10, 1930, at Ruskin. He died November 8, 1978, at the hospital in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was received into the kingdom of God by holy baptism at St. Mark's Lutheran Church near Ruskin and was also confirmed there. He died November 8, 1978, at the hospital in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 29 days. He was received into the kingdom of God by holy baptism at St. Mark's Lutheran Church near Ruskin and was also confirmed there. He servced in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1950 to 1952 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Whilte in the service he also earned his high school diploma. After his discharge from military service, he settled at Fremont where he was employed by the Geo. A. Hormel Co. until his death. During the summer just past, he and his family had been preparing to add a broiler feeding enterprise to their work schedule. The 25,000 bird unit was finished but not yet stocked when he died. On October 18, 1953, he was married to Rena Mae Blackburn at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. God blessed their marriage with five children. He was a member to Trinity Lutheran Church, its Board of Elders and Lutheran Layman's League. He was also a member of Vetrans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife Rena; two sons, Daniel R. of Ralston and Douglas Erich of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Warren Sund (Sandra) of Fremont, Mrs. Mark Sheily (Valerie) of Portland, Oregon, and Karin of the home. He is also survived by his parents, six sisters, Mrs. Otto Moeller (Wilma) of Hardy; Mrs. Ella Grueber (Norma) of Hubbell; Mrs. Albert Samsula (Claris) of Oak; Mrs. Conrad Nelson (Lucille) of Lincoln; Mrs. Larry Biltoft (Iona) of Ruskin; Mrs. Russell Schroeder (Lila) of Oak; and three brothers, Verlan of Ruskin, Wilbur of Chester and Berwyn of Eden, Idaho. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Loretta Mussmann and Mrs. Marvin Freitag (Hildreth). Funeral services were held November 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont, with the Reverend Donald Levenhagen officiating. Songs were sung by the Senior Choir of which he was a member and the children of Trinity Lutheran school eighth grade of which his daughter, Karin, is a member. Casketbearers were Conrad Nelson, Elia Grueber, Larry Biltoft, Albert Samsula, Marvin Freitag, Russell Schroder and Otto Moeller. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery, Fremont.
