Description	:	Orren Jordan, an aged citizen, and one of the most successful and highly respected farmers in Dayton Township, passed away at his him about 11 miles north west of North English last Thursday, after an illness of some duration. Mr. Jordan was a fine gentleman in every respect and it was a pleasure to be counted among his acquaintances and friends. Mr. Jordan was a fine gentleman in every respect and it was a pleasure to be counted among his acquaintances and friends. Orren Webster Jordan, son of Sidney and Sarah Jordan was born in Noble County, Ohio, April 4, 1858. He came to Dayton Twp, Iowa county, Iowa when about 18 years of age when he broke virgin sod, preparing a home for his parents who came the next year. On February 29, 1880, he was united in marriage to Cyrsey Ann Nesmith. To this union was born seven daughters and two sons: Roxie, at home, Jessie dying in infancy, Ethel, Mrs. Edward Stahl of Delta; Lester of Deep River, Sylvia, Mrs. Harley Cover of Neccedah, Wisc., Edna, Mrs. Harley Powers of Colby, Wisc., Edith, Mrs. Tunis DeBont of Keswick; Everett, and Dorothy, Mrs. Raymond Merck of Deep River. He lived the last 45 years of his life on the farm where he died June 13, 1935, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 9 days. He was a well respected citizen and neighbor, his interest in his farm being manifest until the very last. He has been in failing health for the last few years. During the last days of his life he told his wife, "The Lord will take care of me" Funeral services were held at the Community Church by his pastor, Rev Harold Fay. Burial was in the Community Cemetery. Pallbearers were his two sons, Lester and Everett Jordan; three sons in law, Tunis DeBont, Raymond Merck, and Harley Cover, and one grandson, Harold Stahl.
