Description	:	Sidney Glidden Jordan was born in Noble County, Ohio, November 5, 1834, and passed away at his home in Dayton twp, May 28th, 1927, aged 92 years, 6 months, and 23 days. February 21, 1856 he was united in marriage to Sarah Hughes. To this union were born four children, the first one dying in infancy. Those surviving are O.W. Jordan of Deep River, Francesca who passed away at the age of 3 months, J.D. of Hotchkiss, Colorado. His wife passed away on April 10, 1862. He was again married February 11, 1864 to Emily Bell. To this union was born six children. Angus died at the age of 5 years, Mrs. Mary Furney of Deep River, William B of Mason City, Print of Grinnell, and Ida at home. After his second marriage he came to Iowa near Guthrie Center, where they stayed for four years, then going back to Ohio. In 1877 he came back to Iowa settling on a farm in Dayton twp where he lived until his death. Many years ago he united with the M. P. church at Dayton Chapel, holding his membership until his death. In his early days he was a successful auctioneer. His bright out look on life helped to keep him well. He leaves to mourn his loss six children, 20 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Community Church, and afterwards was laid to rest in the cemetery near by. He was a man that everyone had a good word for.
