Description	:	Orville Christ Ernest Grummert, one of three children of Fred H. and Bertha Pollock Grummert, was born January 29, 1919, on a farm near Superior and passed away December 23, 1982, in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 24 days. Read More	Orville Christ Ernest Grummert, one of three children of Fred H. and Bertha Pollock Grummert, was born January 29, 1919, on a farm near Superior and passed away December 23, 1982, in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 24 days. Orville has spent his entire life living in Nuckolls County, Nebraska, where he attended school at Fairview School District #48. He has been a life time member of the Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior, where he was a former member of the Church Council. April 25, 1943, Orville was united in marriage to Helen Jensen at Salem Lutheran Church. To this union four children were born. Orville has spent his life working with his cattle and farming, which was a great joy in his life, and was also a NCplus seed dealer. He took great pride in his four grandchildren and loved having them with him when at all possible. He was a great friend to many and made a special point to know everyone's birthdays and greet them with a Happy Birthday. He was a wonderful, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Survivors include his wife, Helen; three daughters, Lila Grummert and Mrs. Ken (Jan) Franzen, both of Hastings, and Betty Grummert of Omaha; one son, Clifford of Arcata, California; one sister, Mrs. Herb (Phyllis) Wiepert, Davenport, Iowa; one brother, Harlan of Ft. Collins, Colorado; and four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Grummert and Kimberly and Jody Franzen. Pallbearers were Everett Meyer, Glen Mueller, Robert Schiermeyer, Eldrick Grummert, Lawrence Williams and Ronald Meyer. "In The Garden" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" were sung by Alfred and Janell Hanson with Virginia Drohman as organist. "Blessed Be The Tie That Binds" was sung by the congregation. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Arrangements were by Megrue-Price Funeral Home, Superior. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, January 6, 1983; pg. 11
