Description	:	Fred H. Grummert, one of ten children of Ernest and Lena Busig Grummert, was born April 18, 1894, on a farm in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. He passed away December 7, 1981, at the hospital in Superior at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 18 days. April 12, 1908, Fred was confirmed into the Christian faith at Salem Lutheran Church by Rev. A. Meyries. He has been a life time member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he served for a number of years on the church council. Grummert, one of ten children of Ernest and Lena Busig Grummert, was born April 18, 1894, on a farm in Nuckolls County, Nebraska. He passed away December 7, 1981, at the hospital in Superior at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 18 days. April 12, 1908, Fred was confirmed into the Christian faith at Salem Lutheran Church by Rev. A. Meyries. He has been a life time member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he served for a number of years on the church council. October 25, 1916, Fred was united in marriage to Bertha Emma Pollock at Grand Island. To this union three children were born. Fred farmed in Nuckolls County for a number of years and in 1946 he took up the trade of carpenter work and retired in 1974. He moved to the Good Samaritan Center July 29, 1981. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Bertha, who died June 3, 1980; three brothers, Ernest, Herman and an infant brother; three sisters, Minnie, Elsie and Lena; and a grandchild. Survivors include two sons, Orville of Superior and Harland of Fort Collins; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Phyllis) Wiepert of Davenport, Iowa; two sisters, Anna and Martha Schiermeyer, both of Superior; one brother, John of Hastings; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, December 10, at 2 o'clock at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor David Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Galen Grummert, Glen Schiermeyer, Kenneth Schiermeyer, Dewey Roth, Martin Spring and Milvern Grummert. Burial was in Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
