He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Orville Delbert Forbes was born August 8, 1919, at Pocahontas. He was the son of George and Hannah (Oleson) Forbes. He graduated from Pocahontas High school in 1938. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II from 1940 until his discharge in 1945. On June 17, 1946, Orville married Margaret Lorge at Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pocahontas. Orville worked for the Northern Propane Gas Company, later he owned and operated the Maid-Rite Drive In. He also worked as maintenance man at the Pocahontas Community Hospital for 17 years until retiring in 1983. Margaret died in 1982. Orville was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church and the American Legion. He was a part member of the Lions and he was a part-time volunteer fireman with the Pocahontas Fire Department. He especially enjoyed golfing and his grandchildren.
