Orville Earl Taylor passed away peacefully March 2, 2009 at Winner Regional Healthcare Center in Winner, SD. Orville was born August 28, 1935 in Bad Nation Township to Bryon and Ethel Taylor. He was raised in Bad Nation and attended school in Wood. He worked on various ranches in the area where he became known as a horseman. He moved to Omaha, NE in the 70s where he trained and showed many world champion horses in Denver, New York and California. The owner of one of these champions had a jet that Orville flew in his spare time. He loved flying as much as he loved horses. When he retired from training and showing he worked for Kimball Livestock, and Forell Limousine & Bus Service transporting the railroad crew from Rapid City to Phillip and Pierre. This profession led him to Bankwest where he was a courier between Pierre, Winner and Gregory. He retired from Bankwest in 2004 and moved to the Rowe Ranch where he watched the cattle until his health declined. He then moved to the Elder Inn and then the nursing home. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Velma Kreeger. Published on Mason Funeral Home Website Winner, SD NOTE: Names of living members have been taken out of obituary.
