Taylor was born Oct. 21, 1902, in Boone County, Neb., located near Cedar Rapids, to Foster and Effie (Stephens) Taylor and died March 16 at the Sunset Valley Nursing Home, Chamberlain. At the age of seven, he moved with his parents and five brothers to Glenwood Township in Tripp County. His early education was in the South Greenwood school. He was baptized July 16, 1922, in the White River by Rev. Hans Wald and became a member of the Baptist Church. In November of 1922 his father died and he and his brother, Floyd, made a home for their mother for several years. In 1928 he moved to a home northeast of Wood in Mellette County. On Dec. 3, 1932, he married Ethel Peneaux in Winner. They made the home in Riverside Township in Mellette County, where their four children were born. Taylor served on the school board in Riverside Township and was township assessor for many years. In 1956 the family moved to Presho and in 1961 to Kimball. While living in Presho and Kimball, he was employed by the sale barns. Survivors include his wife of Chamberlain; two sons, one daughter; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Floyd of Carter and Joy of Belgrade, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Velma, and three brothers. Published in Winner Advocate Newspaper NOTE: Names of living relatives have been taken out of obituary.
