Description	:	Orville Jerald Holt was born May 22, 1913 in Montrose SD to parents Thor and Rachel (Ostrem) Holt and entered into death on May 5, 1995 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg, SD at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 13 days. Orville received his early education at Hilltop Rural School near Montrose. He moved to the Centerville/Wakonda area in 1928. Read More	Orville Jerald Holt was born May 22, 1913 in Montrose SD to parents Thor and Rachel (Ostrem) Holt and entered into death on May 5, 1995 at Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home in Viborg, SD at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 13 days. Orville received his early education at Hilltop Rural School near Montrose. He moved to the Centerville/Wakonda area in 1928. He farmed in the Centerville area, first with his father and later for himself. Orville retired in the 1976, having lived on the farm for 48 years and moved into Centerville SD. Orville was a member of Immanuel Free Lutheran Church, rural Centerville; and a past member of the Odd Fellows and Centerville Senior Citizens Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Arthur and William and one in infancy, Joseph. Among those who survive and who gratefully shared his life are his brother Eugene of Santa Barbara, CA; his sisters Gladys Bishop of Glendale, CA, Thelma (Mrs Eldon Ward), Verda (Mrs Iver Erickson), and Verla (Mrs Stanley Knudson) all of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held on Tuesday, May 9, 1995 at 2 o'clock at Immanuel Free Lutheran Church, rural Centerville SD with Rev. Mike Klenner officiating. Pauline Buckstead was the organist with Arnold Ostrem, Willard Knutson, Bob Ostrem,and Boyd Ostrem as the vocalist quartet. Song selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Land". Congregational Hymns were "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "How Great Thou Art". Casket bearers are: Larry Erickson, Dennis Ward, Kenneth Knudson, Gordon Knudson, James Knudson, Jerald Holt, Tim Ostrem. Interment is in the Holland Cemetery, rural Centerville SD. Wass Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
