He was born March 6, 1935, to Orville D. and Delphine Vernice Bock in Anaconda. After graduating high school, Orville joined the Marine Corps in December 1953 and was honorably discharged June 1957. While in the Marine Corps, Orville served in San Diego, Pocatello at the Naval Ordnance Plant, Subic Bay in the Philippine Islands, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Bangor, Wash. While serving in Pocatello he met the love of his life, Wanda Lou Sortor. They were married Jan. 2, 1956; their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Orville and Wanda have three daughters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Orville worked at FMC Corp. from 1957 to 1975. In 1974, he started his own business, Big Sky Janitorial in Pocatello and Elko, Nev. After retirement in 1996, until his declining health prevented him from further serving the community in 2006, Orville volunteered for the Pocatello Police Department and served as the vice president of the Pocatello Neighborhood Watch. Orville was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1958. He enjoyed fly fishing, tying flies, ice fishing, oil painting, wood working, bird hunting, camping and spending time with his family. Orville especially loved to take his two grandsons, Tony and Jared, fishing with him. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Lou Bock; daughters, Vicki Lou Root (Jim), Bobbi Jean Bock, Pocatello, Sheri Jo Miller (Brent), Sacramento, Calif.; grandchildren, Tony Bock, Andy Cominotti, Jared Peterson, Chantyl Peterson, Mary Lou Cedeno, Savanya Peterson; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Bock (Jan); sisters, Shirley Correia (Richard), Diane Jewett (Joe), Kathy Sweeny (Dan); and numerous nieces and nephews. Orville was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter. The family is grateful to Creek Side Hospice for all their help and support and especially Adam, Daniel, Star and Debbie. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the LDS Foothill Ward Chapel, 225 Oakwood Drive, Pocatello. Visitation will be held from noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the church. Military graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in Montana in the Sheridan Cemetery.
