Johnston, 77, of Ottumwa Route 4 died September 4, 1988, at his home. He was born April 20, 1911, in Wapello County to Omer and Julia VanFossan Johnston. He lived in Wapello County all his life and farmed until his retirement. He was also an adjuster for Wapello County Mutual Insurance and was a member of Christiansburg United Methodist church. He married Marjorie Johnson; she died in 1934. He married Blanche Replogle on Aug. 2, 1943. Orville Johnston Funeral services for Orville W. Johnston, 77, of Ottumwa Route 4, who died Sept. 21, 1988, will be held 1:00 o'clock Saturday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. David Anderson of Christiansburg Unite Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemeterey west of Ottumwa. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A memorial has benn established to the Christinsburg United Methodist Church. He is survied by his wife; two sons, Orville Jr., of Olean, N.Y., and Robert of Littleton, Colo.; four daughters, Carolyn Birdsell of Des Moines, Ruth McMillan of Eau Claire, Wis., Marilyn Yates of Ottumwa and Catherine Carter of Cedar Rapids; a stepson; Marvin Crady of Bloomfield; 14 grandhchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alta Galey of Ottumwa and Mary Goode of Blakesburg; and a brother, Harold of Ottumwa Route 4.
