Description	:	Otto Christiansen, son of Broder D. and Helena Sophia (Friedrichsen) Christiansen was born on Wednesday, July 4, 1888 in Odebolt, Iowa. As a young boy, Otto lived with his parents on a farm north of Odebolt. He was united in marriage to Flora (Floss) Suzanna Epperson on April 17, 1918 and only 12 days later Otto took his place in the service of his country serving in the U.S. Army in France and at home. Read More	Otto Christiansen, son of Broder D. and Helena Sophia (Friedrichsen) Christiansen was born on Wednesday, July 4, 1888 in Odebolt, Iowa. As a young boy, Otto lived with his parents on a farm north of Odebolt. He was united in marriage to Flora (Floss) Suzanna Epperson on April 17, 1918 and only 12 days later Otto took his place in the service of his country serving in the U.S. Army in France and at home. He enlisted as a private on April 30, 1918 in the Iowa CO N 116th, as an Engineer. He was a World War I veteran that was discharged on January 28 1919. Otto was a charter member of the American Legion at Ida Grove, Iowa as well as a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Upon his arrival home he and his bride, Flora established their home, and were later blessed with four children; Forrest Otto, Norman Dean, Barbara Jean, and Royce Raymond. Otto became a member of the Methodist Church in 1925. In 1937 he and his family moved to Schaller to a farm northwest of Arthur, Iowa. Then in 1938 he moved his family to Arthur, Iowa where he was employed by Arthur Elevator. Otto passed away on Sunday, December 21, 1952. His funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 24 at Arthur Methodist Church. The burial was held in the Odebolt cemetery. The church and the American Legion paid tribute.
