Funeral services were held yesterday, Wednesday, for O. G. Leverson who passed away at the Decatur county hospital at Leon last Sunday. ..... O. G. The last rites were conducted in the White funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. D. B Sorden reading the sermon. Interment was in the Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Leverson was 58 years old at the time of his death and had lived in Lamoni since 1927. ---------------------------------..... The Leverson obituary follows: Otto Gaylord Leverson was born on a farm at Albany, Wis., in 1879. With his parents, when he was 15 years old, he moved to Osage, Iowa, in 1894. He was married to Clara Bertine Nelson, June 12, 1901. To this union nine children were born, one of who died in infancy. After his marriage, Mr. Leverson moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where he was employed at the Des Moines Nursery for one year as a stenographer. The following year he returned to a farm near Osage where he resided for 11 years, until in 1913 when he moved to Milaca, Minn., and was employed for 9 years; Mr. Leverson moved to Minneapolis, Minn, and was employed in that city for four and a half years as a mechanic. He joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 18?? and has remained faithful throughout his lifetime. In 1927, he came to Lamoni and has resided here ever since. He was preceded in death by a baby daughter, a brother, and his father. Surviving Mr. Leverson are his wife, two brothers, one sister, and eight children; Mrs. R. W. Case of Minneapolis, Mrs. M. V. Chapman and Clarence of Hollywood, Calif., and Cora, Norman, Gordon, Kenneth, and Vernon, all of Lamoni.
