Description	:	Otto Jilg, son of Theresa and Anton Jilg, was born in the Black Hill Creek community on May 13, 1882. Otto passed away while a resident of the St. Luke's Home in Kearney, Nebraska at 4 a.m. the 25th of June, 1962. He had reached the age of 80 years, one month, and 12 days. In Otto's family there were five sister, Amelia Maack, Amalia Schwab, Hattie Kaps, Mary Hathaway, and Tracy Jones; six brothers, one child, Otto, died in infancy, Charles (Carl), Florian, Anton, Richard and Otto; and the parents, Anton and his wife, Theresea. Otto passed away while a resident of the St. Luke's Home in Kearney, Nebraska at 4 a.m. the 25th of June, 1962. He had reached the age of 80 years, one month, and 12 days. In Otto's family there were five sister, Amelia Maack, Amalia Schwab, Hattie Kaps, Mary Hathaway, and Tracy Jones; six brothers, one child, Otto, died in infancy, Charles (Carl), Florian, Anton, Richard and Otto; and the parents, Anton and his wife, Theresea. Otto passed away following an illness of over four years. Up to four years ago Otto spent his life on the old home farm, now for many years the home of a nephew, Anton Maack and will whom Otto lived for many years. Of Otto's family, only one survives, a brother, Richard Jilg of Sumner, Nebraska. Many nieces, nephews , and friends will remember Otto, who lived over 80 years on the same farm. Funeral services were held at the Pleasanton E U B Church with the Reverend Albert Roy Murdoch bringing the memorial message. Services were held June 27th at 2 p.m. Following the service in the church his body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Six of the nephews served as pallbearers.
