Ovedia Balinda Enderson had been called to a well earned rest and the members of the congregation together with a large number of friends, were gathered to pay tribute to her memory and to receive comfort and inspiration at her bier. A devotional service had been conducted at the home by Rev. Gunnar Goransson, who was also in charge of the services at the church, and together with Rev. Paulsrud of Randall, spoke a word of comfort to the mourning. At South Marion Cemetery the body was laid to rest, and the committal service read by the pastor of the local Lutheran church. Ovedia Enderson was born near Jewell on August 2, 1897, and passed away in Webster City, on Thursday morning, October 21, 1926, at the age of 29 years, 2 months, 19 days. Her death was due to typhoid fever and complications. At the age of four years she came with her parents to a farm near Stanhope where, besides Story City, she made her home until her marriage to Gust E. Berglund on Sept. 22, 1920, and had since made her home on a farm near Stratford. To this union two children were born, Marjorie Ovedia and Harold Gustav, who have both preceded her in death. In 1911 she was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of this church until her death. She was active in all the branches of church work, having served as a Sunday school teacher, besides being a leader in the Ladies Aid and Mission Society. She will be greatly missed in these organizations as well as in the church in general. She leaves to mourn her early demise a sorrowing husband, her mother, Mrs. Omen Enderson of Story City, four sisters and four brothers. They are: Mrs. Isabel Madson, Mrs. Bertha Hanson, Mrs. Sarah Paulson, Mrs. Julia Swenson, Andrew, Thomas, Jacob and Isaac Enderson, all of whom live in this community. Her father preceded her in death two weeks and three days. Faithful and kindly was the life of Mrs. Berglund. Beautiful and impressive were the last rites as she was laid to rest to await the resurrection. Peace be to her memory.
