Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. Patricia passed away in the presence of her loving and devoted husband, William, Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab of Aberdeen. Patricia Lenore Dunn was born in Aberdeen, SD September 20, 1930. Her parents were Henry Raymond Dunn and Lillian Churchill Dunn. She attended Elkton public schools where she graduated in 1948 as valedictorian and president of the senior class. After graduating from Elkton High School Pat attended General Beadle Teacher's College (Dakota State University) in Madison, SD where she graduated in 1950 with a Teachers Certificate. Following graduation, Pat was employed by the Waverly Public School District, where she was employed for two years. While employed there she met William (Bill) Wall whom she married July 28, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Pat was married for 58 years to Bill, her one and only love. Shortly after their marriage Bill was drafted and spent two years in Germany while mom stayed in Watertown with their new daughter Catherine. Eventually they were blessed with 8 children, 25 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren and still counting. Pat was involved in Girl Scouts as Catherine's Den Mother and a Boy Scouts Den Mother and assistant pack leader with her husband. The culmination of her influence was her five boys becoming Eagle Scouts. Pat is in an elite group as there are very few mothers with five Eagle Scouts to their credit. Pat was also an ardent supporter of the Roncalli Cavaliers as her children were involved in various activities throughout their high school years. In 1974 she completed her Bachelors of Education Degree from Northern State College; she accomplished this with 7 children at home including her oldest daughter, Catherine (Cassie), who was also attending Northern at the time. Pat was the original supermom. Pat was the coordinator for Meals on Wheels in Aberdeen for over thirty years. She was associated with the program until she retired in 2005. Upon retirement she commented that the best part of the job was working with the volunteers, whom she had the utmost respect for due to their dedication to help other people. Pat along with her husband Bill, were also very involved in Marriage Encounter and Engaged Encounter. As Engaged Encounter Team Leaders they presented over 100 weekends in premarital instruction. Pat also enjoyed traveling, especially camping with her young family. In later years, she enjoyed traveling to destinations such as Alaska, San Francisco, Denver, Reno, Washington, DC, Las Vegas, Boston, New Orleans Mardi Gras and Germany; oftentimes Pat and Bill choose their destinations based on where their children lived. The Black Hills of South Dakota was one of her favorite destinations as she visited that area with her family many times in her lifetime. She had an unfulfilled dream of traveling to Ireland in search of her roots. Surviving Pat are her husband, William Sr. (Bill) of Aberdeen, her children Catherine (Micheal) Roberdeau of Bismarck, ND; Timothy (Jean) Wall of Aberdeen; William Jr. (Jennifer) Wall, of Owatonna, MN, Daniel (Sandra) Wall of Littleton, CO, Peter (Corinna) Wall of Germany, and Kayleen (Christopher) Harmel of Omaha, NE. Preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Richard William and Joseph Patrick; one grandson, Logan Patrick Wall and Midnight (cat) the only pet she ever loved. May she rest in peace in love with the Lord.
