Description	:	Mrs. Patricia Brau, 67, of Guernsey, Iowa, wife of Donald Brau, died on Friday, May 20, 2005, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell, Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer. Patricia Louise Collum Brau, daughter of Joseph Patrick Collum and Mary Snook Collum, was born on a farm near Deep River, Iowa, on August 7, 1937. Read More	Mrs. Patricia Brau, 67, of Guernsey, Iowa, wife of Donald Brau, died on Friday, May 20, 2005, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell, Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer. Patricia Louise Collum Brau, daughter of Joseph Patrick Collum and Mary Snook Collum, was born on a farm near Deep River, Iowa, on August 7, 1937. Pat received her education in Scott Township #1 rural school and the Brooklyn High School, graduating in 1955. On May 24, 1958, she was married to Donald Dean Brau at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. They were the parents of three sons, Raymond, Daryl and Wayne. Pat and Donald lived and farmed the Brau family farm for 47 years. Pat also drove a noon kindergarten school bus route for BGM schools for 17 years and worked as a dietitian at Brookhaven for 13 years. Mrs. Brau was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn and the Alter & Rosary Society. Pat enjoyed her sons' car racing and her grandchildren's many activities. She also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers. She is preceded in death by an infant sister; two brothers, John Paul Collum and Joseph Jr. "Buster" Collum; her parents; and one son, Raymond Brau. Surviving are her husband, Donald of Guernsey; two sons and their wives, Daryl and Susie Brau of Brooklyn and Wayne and Jana Brau of Annawan, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Ann Brau of Malcom; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Kevin, Jason, Danny, Scott, Shelby and Lakin Brau; three sisters, MaryAnn (Jim) Plants of Brooklyn, Delores (Marvin) Lacaeyse of Montezuma, and Joyce (George) Watson of Marengo; four brothers, Tom (Terry) Collum of Monticello, Jim Collum of Grinnell, Robert (Marilyn) Collum of Brooklyn and David (Mary Jo) Collum of Brooklyn, and a sister-in-law, Donna Collum of DeWitt, IA. Funeral services for Pat Brau were held at 10:30 AM Monday, May 23, 2005, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn, IA. Rev. Brian Shepley officiated. The organist was Marilyn Kriegel and the soloist was Sue Kluber. Special selections were "Be Not Afraid" and "How Great Thou Art." Casket-bearers were Brad Collum, Jared Collum, Dick McCulley, Roger Collum, Steve Plants, Carl Lacaeyse, Chris Collum and Jeff Collum. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. A Scripture service was held at 7 PM Sunday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn IA. A memorial fund has been established.
