Patrick Anthony was born July 26, 1926, at Greeley, Nebraska to John Joseph and Mary Ellen (Cannon) Ryan. He was raised in Greeley and attended Country School at District #49 and graduation from Sacred Heart High School in 1944. Pat was drafted in the United States Army in 1944. He was a member of the 1945 Occupation Force in Japan and was honorably discharged in 1946. Following the service he returned to the family farm in Greeley. On January 15, 1951, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Glaser at St. Michael's Church in Spalding, Nebraska. To this union five children were born. Pat and Eleanor spent 60 years farming at Greeley. In 2011, they retired and moved to Lincoln. Pat will be remembered for his farming and cattle feeding operation and for the quiet gentle man he was. His hobbies were his life work! He was a model husband, father and a good neighbor. He loved Greeley and being a part of the community. He was a member of the Church of Visitation in O'Connor, Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Greeley, Knights of Columbus, Farm Bureau, and American Legion and was a 4-H Leader. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of Lincoln; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jerry of Inland, Ken and Diane of Greeley, Lee and Lois of Topeka, KS and Bill and Kris of Lincoln; one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Ron McKenzie of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, John F. and Elaine Ryan of Omaha; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Marjorie Pfeifer of Omaha and Catherine and Mike Sweeney of Greeley. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Robert Ryan; his twin sister, Patricia Willnerd and an infant granddaughter, Carah Mae Lang.
