St. Peter, a resident of Chouteau county and Fort Benton for the past 50 years, passed away at St. Clare hospital this Wednesday morning. St. Peter Died Wednesday Morning Patrick D. St. Peter, a resident of Chouteau county and Fort Benton for the past 50 years, passed away at St. Clare hospital this Wednesday morning. He had been in failing health for the past months and had been hospitalized a couple times, entering the hospital this last time on Feb. 19, 1961. His illness was due to advancing years. Patrick D. St. Peter was born April 3, 1872, in Illinois, where he spent his early life. He later moved to Minnesota, where he was united in marriage on Nov. 23, 1897, at Ghent, Minn., where they resided for nine years and engaged in farming, and then moved to Donnybrook, N. D., for five years. They came to Montana and Chouteau county in 1911 and took up a homestead in the Nine Mile section where he farmed for many years. He retired in Nov. 1943, and they moved to Fort Benton where the St. Peter home has been maintained since. Mrs. St. Peter passed away on Monday, Nov. 18th, 1957. Mr. St. Peter was a devout member of the Immaculate Conception church in this city. He was held in highest esteem by all who knew him. He loved to meet people and enjoyed very much visiting with old time friends. He was most conscientious in all his dealings and therefore made friends of all. His passing will be mourned by a large circle of friends throughout this section. He is survived by one son, Emil St. Peter, of this city; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four brothers, Levi St. Peter, Eureka, Joe St. Peter, Lake Park, N. D., Pete St. Peter, St. Paul, Minn., and Fred St. Peter, Minot, N. D.; also three sisters all residing in North Dakota. Mass will be given at Immaculate Conception church at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, with Rev. Fr. Whalen officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Riverside cemetery. The relatives have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement and in his passing Fort Benton and Chouteau county has lost another old time resident of sterling character and a fine neighbor and friend. ..........
