His death was due to consumption from which he has been a sufferer for years. The deceased was born at Rathdrum County Wicklow, Ireland, on May 15, 1823 being almost seventy seven years of age. In 1850 he came to America and resided for five months at Albany N.Y. The following spring he came to Chicago and a year later settle at Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin where he resided until 1870, where he came to Boone County and settled in Harrison Township. A few years ago he removed to Arkansas, where he remained about three years, returning to Boone in 1898. He was married at Wabasha Minn January 19, 1862, to Miss Mary J. Harlan. Nine children were born as follows: Charles A. and Robert of Eagle Grove; Mrs. Kate Sullivan of Harrison township; Mrs. Margaret Matt, John, William, Ella and Emma of this city. One son died about a year ago. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Church of the Sacred Heart, Rev. Father Phelan officiating, and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. All members of the family were present at the funeral. The Democrat extends its sympathy to the family of the deceased in their bereavement. Boone County Democrat March 30 1900
