Dorsey, 74, of Ellensburg, who died Friday, February 28, 1992 at his home, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church with Fr. John Heneghan as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Ellensburg. Mr. Dorsey was born August 17, 1917 in Ellensburg, a son of John and Mary (Jessup) Dorsey. He received a full scholarship in basketball to the University of Washington, where he graduated with a degree in physical education. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Ellensburg. Mr. Dorsey was born August 17, 1917 in Ellensburg, a son of John and Mary (Jessup) Dorsey. He received a full scholarship in basketball to the University of Washington, where he graduated with a degree in physical education. He was a recognized player with Hec Edmunson between 1936 and 1939. After college he played semi-pro basketball with S.L. Savage. He served during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. He and Helen A. Foster met while he was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas and married on April 18, 1946 in Ellensburg. He taught high school in Burlington, was an office manager for Balcomb & Moe, was administrator for Ellensburg General Hospital, and owned and operated Ellensburg Mechanical and College Plumbing and Heating. He retired in 1982. He was a member of the Ellensburg Golf and Country Club, Elk No. 1102, Moose No. 494 and Kappa Sigma. He is survived by two sons, Mike Dorsey and Mark Dorsey, both of Seattle; one daughter, Mary (Meg) Paul, of Renton; three grandchildren; one brother, Swede Dorsey, of Hemet, Calif.; four sisters, Helen Bessonette, of Forest Grove, Ore., Rosetta Morgan, of Ellensburg, Katie Wild, of Hemet, Calif., and Josephine Reynolds, of Bend, Ore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 1989 and three brothers Jack, Bob, and Paul. Family suggest memorial to Hospice of Kittitas County, 603 S. Chestnut, Ellensburg.
