Born 7 July 1950 in Cumberland, he was a son of the late James E. Kenny Sr. and Anna G. (Moffett) Kenny. He was a graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, Cumberland. While in the U. S. Army, he graduated from the Army Engineer School and was a student at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. Mr. Kenny moved to Anchorage in January 1982. He was branch manager for Cummins Northwest; a member of Saint Patrick's Parish and a member of the Police Reserves with the Anchorage Police Department. A black belt, he enjoyed Shotokan karate as well as skiing, camping, boating and fishing. Mr. Kenny is survived by his wife, Brenda Sue (Albright) Kenny; two daughters, Susan Lynn Kenny and Shannon Leigh Kenny; two sons, Patrick Joseph Kenny Jr. and Stephen Joseph Kenny, and a granddaughter, Bethany Miranda Kenny, all of Anchorage; two brothers, James E. Kenny Jr., Dublin, Virginia and William P. Kenny, Westernport; two sisters, Mary Ellen Moran, Westernport and Martha Ann Podelco, Cumberland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated today at 2 p.m. at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, 2111 Muldoon Road, Anchorage, with Reverend Steven Moore officiating. Pallbearers will include Mr. Kenny's sons, Patrick and Stephen and members of the Anchorage Police Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Simono and Mark Yost. Mr. Kenny's ashes will be scattered on the Kenai River and Hatcher's Patch at a later date. The Evergreen Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements."
