Read More	Paul Fred Knehans, one of 12 children born to Peter Knehans and Caroline Gerhard Knehans, was born August 11, 1920, on a farm near Guide Rock, Nebraska, and passed away October 16, 1985, at his home in Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 5 days. Paul spent 27 years on the farm northeast of Guide Rock, 22 years on his farm west of Nelson and the past 8 years at their home in Nelson. On June 5, 1945, he was married to Lila Uyvonne Troudt at Nelson, Nebraska. This union was blessed with 3 children. Paul greatly enjoyed farming for many years. He also enjoyed helping his neighbors with whatever needed to be done and could always to depended (NOTE: typed as written in newspaper) on to lend a hand. Since moving to town he seldom missed coffee with friends at Smith's Cafe. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Kenneth, 4 brothers, Theodore, Rudolph, Erwin and Kurt Knehans and 1 sister, Alma Seeman. He is survived by his wife, Uyvonne; 1 son, Roger and his wife Mary of Strawberry Point, Iowa; 1 daughter, Sharon (Knehans) Turner and her husband Bruce of Ellsworth, Kansas; 4 brothers, Henry and his wife Anna Knehans of Superior, Nebraska, Gerhard and his wife Lenora Knehans of Hastings, Nebraska, Edwin and his wife Ella Knehans of Liberty, Texas, and Eric and his wife O'Dessa Knehans of Nampa, Idaho; 2 sisters, Lena (Knehans) Peter and husband Charles of North Judson, Indiana, and Mrs. Bertha (Knehans) Troudt, Hastings, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren, Jeffery and Marissa Knehans and Todd, Christy and Dustin Turner, other relatives and many friends. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 19, 1985, at 2:00 p.m. from the Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor John Plowman officiating. Virginia Drohman organist accompanied the congregation while singing "Abide With Me" and "Amazing Grace". Casketbearers were Lonnie Knehans, Randy Knehans, Dick Troudt, Bill Troudt, Eldon Knehans and Gerhard (Gary) Knehans. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery.
