Description	:	Paul Hurley Ingram, 82, of 4261 W. 64th St. n., Newton, a resident of the Newton community since 1945, died Sunday, June 26, at the Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, following a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Brown, senior pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Memorials to the Jasper County Historical Society will be accepted. Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; a son, Larry of Colfax; a daughter, Sandy Morrill of Altoona; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther (Mrs. Hollis) Hansen of Mingo. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Mr. Ingram, a lifelong member of the Newton Elks Lodge 1270, and Jasper County Angus Association, was a 20 year member of the National Farmers Organization. He was a hog buyer for the National Farmers Organization at the Baxter and Monroe buying stations for eight years and had farmed most of his life. Mr. Ingram raised a herd of Angus cattle and later Angus-Charolais cross cattle, one of the best herds in the area. Mr. Ingram, who had been a boys' 4-H leader, enjoyed fishing and traveling. The son of Earnest and Charlotte Gearhart Ingram, he was born Aug. 18, 1911 in Lorimor and attended country schools in Sherman Township and Colfax High School. He was married to Dorothy Mackerman Dec. 19, 1938 in Marshalltown. Mr. Ingram purchased his current farm, a Century Farm, from his in-laws when they moved into Newton. The farm has bee in the family since 1800 and the fourth generatin is living there now. The Newton (IA) Daily News, June 26, 1994.
