Description	:	Paul Morton, 76, of 301 W. 13th St.,Tama, died Monday, March 11,1963, at 11:35 p.m. in Zigler's Nursing Home after four years of failing health. Mr. Herbert had not been well since he suffered a stroke in April, 1959. He was hospitalized in University hospital at Iowa City a week in December, 1962, and three weeks in January of this year when he underwent surgery. He returned home for a few days before he entered the nursing home Feb 11. Paul Morton Herbert, son of Anna Anderson Herbert and Bolt Herbert, was born March 25, 1886, on a farm near Gilman. He attended school in LeGrand and was graduated from LeGrand high school and from Palmer College, which was located in LeGrand. Mr. Herbert had a birthright in the old Christian church in LeGrand. He was married Sept. 30, 1908 to Emma Carter in Osceola, Ia. and the couple lived in LeGrand until 1913, when they moved to Roswell, New Mexico, and lived on a ranch. They returned to Iowa in 1921, to Marshalltown, where they resided until they moved to Tama in May, 1961. Mr. Herbert was an interior decorator in Marshalltown 35 years. Survivors include his wife; two children, Mrs. Arlo (Rita) Harris, of Tama, and M/Sgt Joe M. Herbert of Edwards Air Force Base in California; a sister, Mrs. H.C. Hanson, of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren, Patricia Ann Harris, of Tama, who attends the State College of Iowa at Cedar Falls; Robert Harris, of Tama; Mary Jo Herbert, of Ellsworth, who is attending Bernel Hairstyling School in Ames;Denny Herbert, of Jewell; and Joe, Karen, and Paul Herbert, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one great-grandchild, Lee Allen Herbert, of Jewell. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Avey Funeral Home in Marshalltown. The Rev. Russell H. Schmitz, pastor of the Tama Methodist church, will officiate.Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery north of LeGrand. Tama News Herald March 14, 1963.
