Description	:	Paul Sorensen, a well known and substantial farmer and citizen died at his home, three miles southwest of Verdigre last Thursday, June 5, 1924. He suffered long from an incurable cancer. He was born in Logsteor, Denmark, June 9, 1860. He came to America in 1886, where he worked at well digging for about five years. He, then, returned to Denmark and married Miss Marie Sorensen in 1892. He returned to America with his wife shortly after their marriage. They came to Nebraska, settling near Pierce, where they lived on a farm near Creighton. After which they bought a farm southwest... Read More	Paul Sorensen, a well known and substantial farmer and citizen died at his home, three miles southwest of Verdigre last Thursday, June 5, 1924. He suffered long from an incurable cancer. He was born in Logsteor, Denmark, June 9, 1860. He came to America in 1886, where he worked at well digging for about five years. He, then, returned to Denmark and married Miss Marie Sorensen in 1892. He returned to America with his wife shortly after their marriage. They came to Nebraska, settling near Pierce, where they lived on a farm near Creighton. After which they bought a farm southwest of here, where they lived until his demise. Among those who survive him are his wife, three children, Treena, Anna Marie and Soren Chris, all of this vicinity, and two sisters in Denmark. One daughter died in 1906. Paul Sorensen was a good citizen, conservative in business, industrious and frugal. He was a good neighbor, a kind husband, a loving parent and as most of our Scandinavian people are, a firm believer in God's merits and the Holy Word. At the time of his death, he was a member and trustee of the Methodist church. Although Sunday was rainy and totals were heavy, a large concourse of friends attended his funeral. The floral offerings were beautiful, showing taste and affection. The choir added greatly to the impressiveness of the last rites of his departure in showing the respect of those who knew him. Rev.
