Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Peace United Church of Christ in Monticello. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Schneiter was born, Feb. 15, 1914, a twin with her brother, Paul, at the Meier family home in Hard Scrabble near Monticello, the daughter of Alfred and Elisa Sulzner Meier. She married Frank Schneiter on June 5, 1935, in the Little Brown Church in Nasuha. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1994. She attended the Lovell No. 7 rural school for her early education and graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1932. She then taught in the Lovell No. 7 School for 3 years. The couple farmed for a year on the Schneiter family farm. In 1936, they moved to a farm near Sand Springs. In 1947, the couple purchased a farm in Richland Township, near Monticello. They retired from farming in 1980, and moved to Monticello in 1983. She was a lifelong and active member of the Peace United Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and was active in other church activities. She was a 4-H leader and active in various county organizations. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading and visiting her many friends. Survivors include two children, Jerry Schneiter and his wife, Jan, of Monticello, Sharon Hannsen and her husband, Dr. Ben Hannsen, of Muscatine; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Adell Turnis of Mechanicsville, Olga Hoffman of Monticello and Virginia Lienen of Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her twin brother, Paul; and brothers, Edward, Albert, Vernon Meier; and a sister, Susan Ireland.
