Description	:	Peder J. Gaasland, 76, who was a lifetime resident of Meadow Lake Township, died in Valley City, Sunday, January 20, 1980. Peder J. Gaasland was born February 22, 1903 in Meadow Lake Township, the son of Peder and Johanna Elizabeth Gaasland. He was baptized and confirmed in the Elim Evangelical Free Church and received his education in a rural school. On April 24, 1943 he married Florence Otes at her home in Mapleton. She died in 1968. Gaasland was born February 22, 1903 in Meadow Lake Township, the son of Peder and Johanna Elizabeth Gaasland. He is survived by four brothers, Harold of Windom, Minnesota; Arne of Bismarck; Edwin of Minneapolis; and John of Glenwood, Minnesota; two sisters, Helen, Mrs. Harry Van Hal of Sanborn; and Jennie, Mrs Regnvald Molvik of Grenora; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, a half-brother and a half-sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Elim Evangelical Free Church of Svea Township at 2 p.m. with Rev. Don Nydam officiating. Burial will be in Mapleton.
