Description	:	Funeral services for Peder Ness, 72, of Minnewaukan were conducted Monday at the West Minnewaukan Lutheran Free Church with the Rev. Elmer Anhalt officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Ness died Friday Nov. 12, 1953 in a Rugby hospital following a lingering illness. Born May 2, 1881 at Osterdahlen, Norway, he came to the United States in 1905 and was married March 5, 1913 to the former Christie Helgeseth formerly of Churchs Ferry. Surviving besides his wife, are three daughters, Mabel (Mrs. Sanford Thompson) of Brinsmade, Olga (Mrs. Melvin Hjelden) of Minnewaukan, Grace (Mrs. Roy Thompson) of Brinsmade, one son, Laurice (Signe) Ness of Wadena, Minn., 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one brother and one sister still living in Norway. Music was "Beyond the Sunset", "Softly and Tenderly" (Norwegian) by Vernon Lysne accompanied by Mrs. Victor Holberg and "Den Store Hvide Flok" by Conrad N. Sorvick accompanied by Mavis Sogge. Pallbearers were Haukan Lysne, Sam Thompson, Loren McCloud, Ernest Schuman, Henry Kolsrud and Alfred Sogge. The Toomey-Sorvick Funeral Chapel in Devils Lake was in charge of arrangements.
