Description	:	Olga Thorine Hjelden was born 25 May 1916 to Peder and Christie (Helgeseth) Ness in Normania Twsp near Churchs Ferry. She attended school in Eldon Twsp near Minnewaukan. Olga married Melvin on July 7, 1934 in Minnewaukan. They lived and farmed in Eldon Twsp until moving to Minnewaukan in 1973. After Melvin's death in 1988, she continued to live in Minnewaukan until moving to Devils lake in April of 1999, living first at the Odd Fellow Home and then the Good Samaritan Center. Olga was a member of West Minnewaukan Free Lutheran Church until it closed, Stony Lake Lutheran Church until it's closure, and recently became a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Minnewaukan. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and Minnewaukan 55 Club. Olga died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000 in Devils Lake at the age of 84.
