Cottam Woodside was born September 11, 1932 at Hubbell, NE, and passed away February 11, 1997 at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, NE, at the age of 64 years and 5 months. Peggy received her education in the Hubbell Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Earnest P. Dunn on July 7, 1950 and to this union three children were born, Patricia, Janet and Linda. Peggy received her education in the Hubbell Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Earnest P. Dunn on July 7, 1950 and to this union three children were born, Patricia, Janet and Linda. Peggy was a devoted wife and mother. She was a former member of the Hubbell Presbyterian Church, an active 26 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and a 4-H leader for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Goldie Woodside; one daughter, Patricia McGhghy, one sister and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Earnest P. Dunn, Chester; two daughters, Janet Dingman and her husband David, Bennet, NE, and Linda Dunn, Seattle, WA; son-in-law, Gary McGhghy, Deshler; five grandchildren, Andrew, Thomas and Kaylie McGhghy, and Kelsey and Matthew Dingman; two brothers, Keith Woodside, Narka, KS, and Kale Woodside, Lincoln; one sister, June Zimmerman, Chester, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 15, 1997, 2 p.m. at the Community bible Church, Chester, conducted by Rev. Ray Berry and Rev. T.J. Fraser. Organist was Mary Riggs and singers, Irene Long and Pauline Frye. Casket bearers were Gary McGhghy, Jim Woodside, Alan Woodside, David Dingman, Harold Zimmerman, Jr., and Thomas McGhghy. Honorary casket bearers were Reuben Schleifer, Clarence Jay Gould, Wilbert Crouse, Kenneth Eggers, Jean Larkins and Dean Coonrod. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery, Chester, NE. The family suggests memorials to the Community Bible Church, Chester, the Chester Fire & Rescue Squad, Thayer County Memorial Hospital or Cerebral Palsy Research. ----------------------------- Dear Mother, This week has been such a difficult one for your daughters. It has been filled with tremendous sadness surrounding the suddenness of your death mixed with celebration of the new life of your grandson, Matthew. The simply are no words to describe the intensity of our varying emotions. As your daughters, we have loved you through many of your life experiences and we continue to love you in this final life transition. We remember our childhoods with you with great fondness. You were a warm-hearted mother who always put your family first on your many lists. You instilled in us important values about life and giving to others. We learned these values, not so much by your spoken words, but though your actions. There was never a time our friends were unwelcome in your home, no mater (sic) how many guests arrived with us. You always fond (sic) abundance in your kitchen and we remember the joy you found in cooking for your family and for others in the community. It is with bitter-sweet sadness that we will remember you cooking breakfast for us the morning you died. You were always a very private woman who said little, but felt much. At times you seemed driven to do the absolute best you could and the products of your labors reflected this. You smiled often and giggled a sweet laugh whenever you felt like it. You taught us to see the humor in even the most difficult times. Because of this, we know that you would want us to celebrate your life - to cry, to laugh, to remember you, and to let you go. As you daughters, we are comforted and blessed to have this time with you. And now we humbly send you back from where you came, knowing that you will never be far away in our hearts.
