Brief personal information: Peggy was raised in Aurelia, Iowa, and graduated from Aurelia High School. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ. Peggy was very religious and enjoyed her church very much. She found her calling in Sioux City working with children with disabilities. Peggy’s passion for her job led her to Dubuque in the late 1960’s, where she became a CNA and began working with the children at Hills and Dales. She liked playing bingo and “going to the boat”, but her true love was her family and “her kids” at Hills and Dales. Survivors: Her mother, Doris Coombs, Warsaw, Missouri.; 2 sisters – Darla Urbanski, Warsaw, Missouri, and Doreen (Brad) Ebaugh, South Sioux City, Nebraska; 1 brother – Tom (Denise) Coombs, Camdenton, Missouri; 2 Nieces – Stacie (Sam) Smith, Iowa City, Iowa, and Christie (Larry) Ebaugh, Ponca, Nebraska; 3 nephews – Chris (Becky) Coombs, Missionaries in Serbia, Ryan Urbanski, Warsaw, Missouri, and Jason Ebaugh, Texas; 2 Great-nephews – Jacob Smith, Iowa City, Iowa, and Bradley Ebaugh, Ponca, Nebraska. Preceded in death by: Her father – Clifford “Tom” Coombs in 1998; and 1 nephew, Adam Urbanski in 1982.
