Born July 9, 1914 at Comers Rock, Va. to Charles Harvey and Della Beatrice Perkins Delp, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Independence, Va., a U. S. Navy World War II veteran, member of Grayson County VFW Post #7726 and retired from Kraft Food, Independence, Va. Surviving are his wife, Edith Delp, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Bill Greever, Dublin; granddaughter, Stephanie Bourne, Cornwall, N.Y.; two sisters, Edith Cassell, Virginia Perrino, both of Independence. The Body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 2, 1998 at 2 p.m. from the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, Independence, Va., with the Rev. Kathie Wilson-Parker officiating, with interment in Independence Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by Grayson County VFW Post #7726. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Sunday night. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Independence Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 607, Independence, Va. or Independence Vol. Fire Dept., P. O. Box 588, Independence, Va.
