Description	:	P. S. Focht, who had lived in Montgomery County, 80 years, died Friday at 10 a.m. at his home seven miles northwest of Villisca where he had lived 37 years. His death was the result of intestinal flu which followed a decline in health during the last two years. He was married... Read More	P. S. Focht, who had lived in Montgomery County, 80 years, died Friday at 10 a.m. at his home seven miles northwest of Villisca where he had lived 37 years. His death was the result of intestinal flu which followed a decline in health during the last two years. Percifer Smith Focht was born June 26 1855 at Wapokeneta, Auglaize County, Ohio and came with his parents, William and Rebecca Williams Focht, when he was 2 years old to Montgomery County, settling in Pilot Grove Township and later moved to Douglas Township where they engage in farming. He was married December 22, 1879 to Miss Harriett E. Moates, near Red Oak and they went to farming in Douglas Township where they lived until 1901 when they moved to the home where Mr. Focht died. He is survived by his wife and six of their eleven children who are, Roscoe, Lawrence, Lester Focht and Mrs. Golda Stewart of Villisca and vicinity, Mrs. Elmo Lehman of Avoca, Iowa, and Mrs. Louise Windom of Nodaway. He leaves also two brothers, John Q. Focht of Morton Mills, and Oscar Focht of Red Oak. P. S. Focht was a member of the Montgomery Lodge No 270 of the Masonic order and of the Modern Woodman of America. He and Mrs. Focht celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last December with all their children and grandchildren at home with them. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Methodist Church in Villisca, conducted by the Rev. Ira E. Carney of Audubon, Iowa and the Rev. W. F. Clayburg of Villisca, with the Masonic service at the grave. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. The music at the service was by R. B. Means, F. L. Means, H. D. Peckham, an dR. J. Swanson, accompanied by Mrs. J. L. Wheeler and the pall bearers were Nell Means, Earl Means, Harry Raney, B. R. Mayhew, H. F. Mayhew, and Fred Lamken. flower bearers were Mrs. Earl Means and Mrs. C. B. Holland.
