Description	:	ARMA - Pete J. Hofer Jr., 75, of Arma, Kan., died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kan. Mr. Hofer was born Dec. 2, 1938, at Pittsburg, Kan., the son of Pete and Pauline Pichler Hofer Sr. Pete was a retired businessman who lived in Arma for life. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma High School in 1956. Read More	ARMA - Pete J. Hofer Jr., 75, of Arma, Kan., died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Via Christi Hospital at Pittsburg, Kan. Mr. Hofer was born Dec. 2, 1938, at Pittsburg, Kan., the son of Pete and Pauline Pichler Hofer Sr. Pete was a retired businessman who lived in Arma for life. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma High School in 1956. He worked for Sitter's Auto Service, the Kansas City Southern Railroad for 15 years, and later owned and operated Hofer Electric and Twister's Club. He married Mary Ellen Hosman on Sept. 28, 1957, at Arma, Kan. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Arma United Methodist Church, the Arma Masonic Lodge, the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion, the Scottish Rites at Ft. Scott, and the Mirza Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen, of the home; a son, Dan Hofer of Arma; five grandchildren, Justin Sumpter, Julie Hofer, Sami Dunlap, Daniel Hofer, and Colton Hofer; and four great grandchildren, Braden, Brynna, Kage, and Kymora. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Debra Cleland; and a sister, Pauline Didlake. According to his wishes, Mr. Hofer has been cremated. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Glenn Duderstadt officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us.
