Last evening Peter Ginsback died at his home in Chapmantown, leaving a widow and six little girls in entirely destitute circumstances. Mr. Ginsback had been ill for some time and had not been able to earn anything to the support of his family. This is a very sad case. Peter Ginsback was a native of Germany and aged 42 years. The funeral will take place at 4 oclock this Tuesday afternoon and the remains will be interred in Chico cemetery. ---------- Chico Chronicle-Record, Saturday, June 23, 1894, pg 3 col 4: Card of Thanks. A few days ago Peter Ginsbach died, leaving a widow and six little girls entirely destitute circumstances. Their immediate wants were supplied, but there is a mortgage of $100 on the little home in Chapmantown which will fall due in a short time with no prospect of the poor family being able to raise the amount of the mortgage. Joseph Boydstun is now circulating a petition for the purpose of raising enough money to pay off this mortgage and leave enough to pay for the services of a physician and nurse, whose assistance will soon be required. It is hoped that there will be a liberal response on the part of all when the petition is presented to them. This is an object of true charity and one which calls for substantial sympathy. Inasmuch as ye did unto one of the least of these, ye did it unto Me. With the charity given in such cases as this there is always a blessing received in return.
