Description	:	Son of Mary Shaw and John Laycock of Horwich. Peter married Susannah Pilling 22 September 1838 at Waddington, Yorkshire (now Lancashire), England. They had a daughter, Mary, in 1839 before immigrating to America in 1841.* *See his wife's bio for complete history. Peter was stricken with cholera aboard a steam ship returning from New Orleans to St. Louis. He was promptly buried on the bank, alongside the Mississippi River at "Iowa Point".
