Services will be held at Goettsch Funeral home where friends may visit after 1 pm on Wednesday. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran church Friday, June 24, at 11 a.m. Caspers was born May 13, 1885, the son of Andrew and Jetta Caspers, the former Jetta Husmann. He attended Castle Grove township school and married Johanna Poppe on March 26, 1919. They have lived in Anamosa the last 50 years where Caspers was in the poultry and egg business. Caspers is survived by his wife, Johanna, six children, Mrs. Henry Siebels of Monticello; Mrs. Alvin Ortgies, Anamosa; Earl M., Fayetteville, Ark.; George and Henry of Anamosa; and Carl of Carpentersville, Ill. He is also survived by two brothers, Henry J. of Anamosa; Fred of Monticello; and three sisters, Mrs. Katherine Tobiason, Mrs. Lena Mardorf, and Mrs. Margaret Stadtmueller, all of Monticello. Twenty-three grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Casket bearers are Richard Ortgies, Davis and Paul Siebels, and Douglas, Randy and Rusty Caspers.
