Peter Minick, aged 75 years, 8 months and 13 days, died at his home on East North Fifth street Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. Mr. Minich has been very ill for some time and his death was expected. The friends and relatives will meet at the home tomorrow at noon and go from there to the Buckeye church where the funeral services will be held. Rev. B. H. Peter Minick was born Feb. 16, 1934 near Chambersburg, Franklin county, Pa., and died Oct. 23, 1909, aged 75 years, 8 months, 12 days. He was a resident of his native state until March, 1883, when he came to Kansas and settled in North Dickinson county where he resided for 26 years. He was married to Anna M. Nickles June, 1955, and to this union were born 12 children, eight boys and four girls. Five children have preceded him in death. Seven children are living, one son in Washington, D. C., and one in California. His wife died Sept. 7, 1893. Father Minick was a Union soldier serving from July 1863 to June, 1865, to a total of 17 months in Co. D 21 Pa. cavalry and in Ci. D 207 Pa. Infantry. Father Minick was raised in an Evangelical home but he identified himself with the Lutheran church where his wife held her membership. Contributor: Lorena (46917011)
