Dr. Jetter was Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. She retired in 1993 from the University after 21 years of service. She earned undergraduate degrees from Shimer and Grinnell Colleges. She earned her Masters in Music Education from the University of Iowa and her doctorate of Music Education at the University of North Texas. Dr. Jetter had published numerous research articles in her specialty, which was early childhood music. Her research took her on many travels throughout Europe. Her travels allowed her to also extensively research her family genealogy. Dr. Jetter is survived by her daughter, Anne C. Jetter Maas and her husband, Vincent of Kansas City, MO; two sons, John A. Jetter and his wife, Frieda of Longview, TX and James L. Jetter and his wife, Diane of Iowa City, IA; her sister, Joann Rusk of Plano, TX; six grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
