James Mattson was the clergyman. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery. Mr. Thomsen was born on Jan. 24, 1894 at Wyoming, the son of John and Marie Jensen Thomsen. He graduated from the Wyoming high school, and served in the Army in World War I. He married Nora Storm at the Wyoming Lutheran church on Sept. 6, 1922. The couple farmed west of Wyoming for over 50 years, moving to Wyoming in 1973. He died at the Anamosa Community hospital on Sunday, July 9. He was a charter member of the Wyoming American Legion Post 259; of World War I Barracks No. 1018; a member and past elder of Wyoming Presbyterian church; he served for 12 years on the Wyoming school board and on the Wyoming cemetery board. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Dr. June Jetter of Kansas City, Mo., and Joan Rusk of Plano, Tex.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Meinhart Thomsen of Wyoming; one sister, Mrs. Clara Benbow of Corwallis, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
