Description	:	OBITUARY: Phebe Beeson Wickersham was born in Columbiana County, OH, May 15th, 1847. Came with her parents by wagon to Springdale township in 1850. Was married to C. H. Wickersham, May 14th, 1868. Stricken with paralysis Aug. 24th, died Aug. 28th, 1910. The funeral at the home was conducted by their former pastor, Rev. George Furniss, who spoke tenderly of the departed who, though tested by years of physical suffering, endured the pain and privation like a good soldier of the cross, winning the love and respect of all who were closely allied by ties of nature and friendship.... Wickersham, May 14th, 1868. Stricken with paralysis Aug. 24th, died Aug. 28th, 1910. The funeral at the home was conducted by their former pastor, Rev. Her loving, amiable disposition left a pleasing impression upon the minds and hearts of all who knew her. Though gone from earth the memory of her pure life and generous heart abide here, a sacred benediction to her bereaved friends and family. Covered with most beautiful flowers the remains were taken to the West Branch cemetery and laid beside her daughters, Gertrude and Alta, Aug 30 1910. A husband, four daughters, two sons and twenty-two grandchildren are left to cherish her memory. The following persons were called here by the death of Mrs. C. H. Wickersham, and all remained to attend the funeral Tuesday: Mr. and Mrs. John W. Macy of Ottowa, Ks, M. P. Wickersham of Des Moines, Joe Wilson of Rock Island, Ill., John Beeson and daughter Nina of Iowa City, Frank Bell of Hedrick, Ray Wickersham of Estherville, Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Smith of Iowa City. A telegram of sympathy was received from B. A. Beeson of Marshalltown, who was unable to be present.
