Stover who has been seriously ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. A. Sloan, for many weeks passed away Monday morning. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. E.E. Zimmerman of Vail, Iowa, and Rev. Arch Conde of West Bend. Interment was in made in the West Bend cemetery. Phildelia R. Lodwig was born in Delaware County, Ohio, on January 21, 1855. Her parents came to Iowa when she was six months old and settled in Washington County. She grew to womanhood there and taught school for nine years, eight of them being in one school. Her younger brothers were among her pupils. She was married to Burr T. Stover on March 16, 1881. Three children were born in that union. They lived on a farm in that county until March, 1896, when they moved to Palo Alto county, settling near West Bend and later near Rodman. They moved into Rodman in 1905 and lived there until 1928 when Mr. and Mrs. Stover had a sale and moved to Waterloo, Iowa where they lived with their daughter, Mrs. Funk. On September 6, 1926, Mrs. Stover suffered a stroke of paralysis and has been confined to her chair most of the time. The last twelve weeks she has been bedfast. Mr. and Mrs. Stover celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on March 16, 1931, with all of their children present. Mr. Stover passed away on June 14, 1931, at Waterloo. Since his passing, she has steadily failed in health and passed away Monday morning at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Stover was a life long Christian, being a member of the Methodist church until she joined the Presbyterian church at Rodman. Every Sunday morning, when her health permitted, would find her at Sunday school, where she taught a class for years. She leaves to mourn her loss the three children, Mrs. Ada Sloan of West Bend, Wm C. Stover and Mrs. Maude Funk of Waterloo: thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, besides four brothers--John W. Lodwig of Brush, Colorado, William Lodwig of Bassett, Neb., Aurelius Lodwig of Great Falls, MInn. and Harry E. Lodwig of Kearney, Neb. Also a host of other friends and relatives.
